The beauty of Kashmir is no secret to anyone. People from all around the world come to see the place they call “Paradise on earth”. As rightly said, “Agar firdaus bar roo-e zameen ast, Hameen ast-o hameen ast-o hameen ast.” Surrounded by mountain peaks, lush green valleys, glistening lakes, temples, and spectacular Mughal-era gardens, it has inspired poets for centuries.
Adding to the gorgeousness of the place, the famous Mughal Gardens of Kashmir contribute a fair amount to its vision. The place is truly a visual treat, awashed with white and pink flowers of almond, peach, and cherry blossoms; bright-yellow blooms of the mustard fields; hills covered with crocuses, hyacinths, snowdrops, narcissus, daffodils, forsythia, etc.
Inspired by the same beauty and intricacy of these Mughal Grandes, comes ‘Amalbagh’—a clothing collection from Tilsim by Sagarika Mehrotra.

Giving us more about the collection, co-founder and head designer of Tilsim, Sagarika Mehrotra said, ” ‘Amal’ means’ with pure heart and intentions’. This collection is a piece of my heart. I had personally travelled to Kashmir to carefully examine the intricacies, patterns, and designs of the Mughal Gardens. Each pattern I have chosen, I have chosen with great thought. Each piece designed has a story behind it. A story of India’s beautiful and breathtaking architecture There is no other place in the world I’d rather take inspiration from. Our country is a treasure house of complex yet beautiful motifs. I tried to bring out the beauty of the Kashmir Gardens by getting the flowers embroidered in the collection. The flowers symbolize joy and sorrow as a part of our life.”
“When it comes to the colour palette of ‘Amalbagh’, after extensive research of trends, we went with a pastel colour palette. For people who don’t know, a pastel colour palette consists of relatively pale colors compared to their bold counterparts. We noticed that young people nowadays are inclined towards clothes that are in pastel shades like millennial pink, baby blue, whimsy yellow, peach, lavender, mauve, and mint green.

Our complete collection consists of hand-embroidered resham work and aari work with katdana, with the colours that soothe our eyes. Our ensemble is all about contemporary yet ethnic wear. lehenga , anarkali, shrugs, garara co-ords and much more is offered in this collection
The material that has been used is also something we have put great thought and research into. Pure georgettes, chiffons, chanderi, shimmer organzas, and silks have been used in this collection. These fabrics bring out the colour palette beautifully and also lend a sophisticated aura to ‘Amalbagh’. “
