Pt Jai Kishan Ji Maharaj unveiled ‘Utsav’ At Phoenix Palassio.
#Lucknow: Decorations at Phoenix Palassio got a unique cultural turn around with enticing installations dedicated to the Indian dance forms. Utsav, the cultural dance installations at Phoenix Palassio were unveiled by Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj, the son of late Pt. Birju Maharaj. Pt Jai Kishan Ji Maharaj is the 8th generation Kathak dancer from Kalka-Bindadin Gharana of Lucknow.The installation that is exclusively made with mirror chips and gold paint finish added an extra flavor to the Diwali celebration for the patrons of Phoenix Palassio.
The installations have been designed as a tribute to the rich heritage of Indian dance forms and their great performers the country has produced. They are accessible from all sides with two dancers placed at the central base and another two dancers on the side with a rotating platform for better visibility of the visitors. There was also a dance performance by Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj’s troupe.
“The installations are an ardent reminder of our cultural history which has Indian dance forms like kathak, kuchipudi, manipuri dance at the very root of it.
