Ms. Saithong Soiphet, Director of Thai Trade Centre New Delhi, an overseas office of Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) under the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand spoke about the connect of Indo-Thai Culture and how the two countries (India and Thailand) go back in age having the Buddhist and the Ramanaya.
Prateek Hira, Chairman, Tourism-Sub Committee FICCI spoke about Tourism and the potential it has as a sector for Thailand and UP. He further said that in order to encourage Thai Companies to invest in Uttar Pradesh, FICCI must host a virtual webinar initially and invite progressive Exporters, sector specific entrepreneurs etc to meet with the industry base in Thailand and discuss the opportunity areas.
Sarvesh Goyal, representing the construction sector enquired about best practices and environment friendly construction practices from the Thai representatives. He added that this is a huge opportunity for the indian companies to learn from Thailand. He said that this is a positive opportunity to enhance the trade relations between the two countries.
Divjot Singh Anand, Assistant Director, FICCI UP State Council presented UP’s strengths and business friendly policies in various sectors like agri-food processing, pharma, electronics, and wood working industries. Furthermore, he expressed his delight in conducting more sessions to take things forward, with more stakeholders like buyers, sellers, and facilitators. He spoke about the various statistics that make Uttar Pradesh the best destination to invest.
Welcoming the delegation Mr Hassan Yakoob, representing the E-commerce said that Thailand and UP have a similar concept of OTOP in Thailand like ODOP in UP.
Coming from the Medical sector Mr Pramit Mishra, spoke extensively about the advance technology that India and especially UP possess in the field of Medical Treatment.
Anoop Mishra, from Automobile sector said that UP has one of the most conducive business environment for new investments.
