Former pacer Ian Bishop undergone surgery at Apollomedics

Former West Indian pacer Ian Bishop (52) has undergone surgery on his troublesome knee in Apollomedics Hospital, Lucknow on Saturday. Bishop had complain of left knee pain for about two years especially during running. With this problem, he reached the Apollomedics Hospital where Orthopedic Surgeon Dr Sandeep Gupta and Dr Madhuresh Kumar successfully conducted arthroscopic / Key-hole surgery.

Dr Sandeep Gupta told that Ian Bishop was suffering from Lateral Petallar Impingement Syndrome, Cartilage Defect & Meniscus Tear. He was treated with lateral Patelloplasty, Microfracture & PRP injection. It was a kind of day care surgery.
He was able to walk on his own & was discharged after 6 hours of the surgery. Because of effective multimodal pain management and deep vein thrombosis (clot ) prophylaxis he was able to safely fly from Lucknow to New York (USA) immediately after surgery.
