Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh addresses over 100,000 Global Indian

Appeals to NRIs to act as brand ambassadors for India

11th July 2020, London: A special session in conversation with Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh was organised during the ongoing India Global Week 2020 organised by India Inc. This session was jointly organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and Daily Hunt Group.
The session titled, ‘Atmanirbharta: Global Indians and Uttar Pradesh – A Partnership’ and moderated by Senior Journalist & TV Anchor Siddharth Zarabi, aimed at sharing the Chief Minister’s views on how Global Indians could contribute in making an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
While addressing the participants the CM said, “Uttar Pradesh has the third-highest GDP among states and accounts for 8% of India’s GDP. My govt is committed to make UP the most attractive business destination in India and a $1 trillion economy in our journey towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
On the infrastructural development in the State he said, “We are setting up a network of expressways in Uttar Pradesh; work has begun on a National Waterway to connect Haldia to Prayagraj.” He added, “We’re building a greenfield airport in Jewar; 100,000 people will get employment and it will facilitate economic development.”
“When the COVID pandemic surfaced, there wasn’t a single PPE kit or N95 mask maker; I’m happy to inform you that now the State has the capacity to even serve the export market”, shared the CM while sharing about the robust response of the State to the COVID19 pandemic.
The Chief Minister appealed to the Global Indians to do their bit for building India’s economy and act as brand ambassadors of India. He asked the Indian Diaspora to help attract investment in the sectors like Defence, Tourism, Electric Mobility, Technology and Startups.
Assuring the investors on the law & order situation in the State, he said, “Providing security for more than 200 million people of UP is the responsibility of my Government. We will do whatever is needed to end corruption & crime in the state. Our policy is zero tolerance towards crime & corruption.”
The Chief Minister also informed the delegates about various policies announced by the State Government enabling manufacturing and Ease of doing business.
The session had over hundred thousand participants from over 60 countries. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Mr. Siddhartha Nath Singh, Minister for MSME and Mr. Satish Mahana, Minister for Industries for the State.
